Jana is an economist with extensive professional experience in economics, capital markets and sustainable finance. She has undertaken research and analysis on a broad range of emerging market economies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, particularly South Africa. Lately, she has been focusing on ESG and impact investing in sub-Saharan African markets. Jana has worked with counterparts in government and the private sector, including capital allocators across the entire spectrum of capital, from philanthropic funders to commercial investors.
Jana previously worked as an ESG and impact investing consultant at IBIS Consulting and before that she was Head of Financial Markets at ETM Analytics. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Finance (with distinction) from UCT’s Graduate School of Business (GSB), as well as Bachelor of Commerce degrees in Economics (University of South Africa) and Financial Management (University of Pretoria).
She is co-chair of the South African National Advisory Board of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investing (Impact Investing South Africa’s) working group for foundations.
