Intellidex was commissioned by the Banking Association South Africa to research the level of transformation in the banking sector. While strong gains have been made particularly at management level, black ownership levels dipped between 2016 and 2017, reflecting the exit of black shareholders who received shares through black empowerment schemes that expired in 2015.
