Tian is a macroeconomist who delivers comprehensive macroeconomic outlooks, forecasts and expert insights to private sector clients, including banks, asset managers, insurers and capital market infrastructure providers. With a strong focus on monetary and fiscal policy in South Africa, he conducts in-depth research to support strategic decision making. This includes developing dynamic macroeconomic modelling, econometric forecasting and applied research on financial markets.
Tian is pursuing a PhD in Economics at Stellenbosch University, building on his master’s in Financial Econometrics. His research interests include the interaction between fiscal and monetary policy, financial econometrics and the global trade dynamics.
