Nkosie Shange is a hybrid macroeconomist, equally comfortable in rigorous econometric analysis, policy evaluation, financial market strategy and sector research. At Krutham, he specialises in political economy, financial markets and public policy. His work focuses on analysing how macroeconomic shocks, fiscal and monetary policy decisions and global capital flows shape South Africa’s economic trajectory.
He is completing a PhD in Economics at the University of Pretoria where his research examines monetary policy responses to demand and supply shocks, the transmission of global shocks to the domestic economy, fiscal and monetary policy interactions and inflation dynamics.
Nkosie has held economic research and policy roles at the National Treasury and the Western Cape Government. He also worked at the South African Reserve Bank as a PhD researcher within the research unit and served as an economist at the Bureau for Economic Research.
His background blends macroeconomic insight, political economy awareness, industry knowledge and financial market competence, enabling him to operate across academia, public policy, investment research and strategic advisory.
