Justin is an accomplished finance executive and chartered accountant with over two decades of experience in financial services, consulting and impact investing. He has a strong background in mergers and acquisitions, transaction due diligence and strategic project management across Africa.
Justin’s goal is to leverage capital for social and financial returns. His career includes a 16-year tenure with the Standard Bank Group, where he led numerous high-impact initiatives. This includes establishing the bank’s community foundation in South Africa and managing its ZAR2bn endowment, and driving the creation of South Africa’s first social impact bonds focused on early childhood development and youth employment. His experience also includes a senior consulting role with PwC in London, specialising in financial services risk management.
Justin holds a master’s degree in inclusive innovation from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and a bachelor of commerce honours, majoring in accounting, auditing and business administration, from the University of Natal.
Justin is a non-executive director of Shares In Society NPC. This start-up philanthropic venture with the Banking Association of South Africa, is focused on economic transformation and individuals Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET).
